The Vietnam War, narrated by the Prince of Darkness

After travelling through Vietnam for the past month, circling the Mekong Delta by motorcycle, exploring the Chu Chi Tunnels, and visiting the War Remnants Museum and Museum of Fine Arts in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), I felt the need to write something about the war.

But what can be said about war that hasn’t already been said by Ozzy Osbourne in ‘War Pigs’ (written by Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler)? Thus, I turn it over to the Prince of Darkness Himself to narrate this multimedia slideshow I compiled from my trip.

Just pop in the earbuds, press play on this YouTube video, skip to the one-minute mark… and then scroll on down.

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses

Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death’s construction

In the fields, the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning

Death and hatred to mankind
Poisining their brainwashed minds
Oh Lord, yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait ’til judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour

Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings…
Oh Lord, yeah!

(This blog is dedicated to the amazingly kind people of Vietnam … and Ozzy, may he R.I.P. …p.s. I highly recommend reading his autobiography ‘I am Ozzy’.)
